Norah's Birth Story | the preface

This story begins on Monday, October 11.  Since I knew my sister-in-law, Alison, would be seeing the doctor that day, I called her to see how the baby was doing.  I always thought she'd be early, but knew for certain when she told me she was already 4cm dilated.  (At 10cm, you give birth!)  The next day I stayed over with my brother, Ryan, and Alison, anxiously waiting for the baby to come.  I thought for sure the baby would arrive that day, but she didn't. On Wednesday, Ryan and I spent the day working while Alison went about getting ready for the baby.  For dinner the three of us went to grab some sushi, and even though Alison had been feeling contractions here and there since Monday, the baby was still not there.  When we got back to Ryan and Alison's house, Alison and I baked some delicious cookies....

I went back to work.  I finally finished at 6am and as I was climbing into bed, Alison told me to sleep well because she thought the baby would be coming soon....and she did. I think the cookies did it. :)

To be continued.....
