a year of love | august.

July/August came and I finally got to meet Baby C.  Oh how I love babies.  C was so snuggle-able when I saw him.  Looking back on these pictures, it's crazy how much he's grown.  He definitely looked like an infant then.  I so miss this stage.  Babies are babies for such a short amount of time.  I took for granted how much C's changed since that first time I met him.  It makes me a little sad to think of all the babies growing up.  However, it does make me so happy to see these little ones grow.  It's really incredible how fast they grow. This time around I just photographed Leigh with C, as she had plenty of pictures of C with D, being the awesome photographer she is.  (She might deny it, but she's got a great eye.  Do you hear that, Leigh? I love your pictures!! And your blog!)

Anyway, I really love a lot of things.  I'll be honest.  But I really do love the things I love.  And one of those things I love is seeing first time parents with their babies.  There's this picture of my mom that I often think of.  She's sitting in an armchair cradling my (infant) sister, and there's this feeling of serenity and joy in the picture.  My mom and the light is so beautiful.  I'm not even in the picture, but yet this is one of my favorite pictures of my mom.  And that's how I want to capture my clients with their babies.  I want them to remember everything they loved about those early moments with their babies, to feel joy every time they see the picture.

So I LOVED this shoot of Leigh and C.  It marked a point in my business that I thought... "Yeah. I really am a photographer.  My photographs are exactly how I want them."

Enjoy these pictures!
